Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people 65 years of age or older. It pays for much of your health care, but not all of it, such costs could be, prescription drugs, deductibles, coinsurance. We work with several insurance carriers to find you the right plan at the best rates.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina
American Republic
Humana
CIGNA
For 2008 the Medicare Part A (hospital expenses) deductibles are as follows:
$1,024 for the first 60 days inpatient
$256 per day for days 61 through 90 which could be up to $7,680
$512 per day for days 91 through 150 which could be up to $30,720
If you or a loved one only has Medicare for inpatient coverage then after 150 days they would be liable for $39,424 in deductible amounts, worse yet Medicare stops covering inpatient care after 150 days.
We all need to plan for our own future because Medicare leaves you paying a big part of the cost for inpatient care and then only covers Skilled Nursing Facilities for the first 100 days. We can help you to find a long-term care coverage option that is right for you.
Medicare Supplements are a health insurance policy sold by private heath insurance companies to fill the "gaps" in Medicare coverage. For more information or to get a quote, fill out our online Medicare quote form.
