Preventative Care Update In our desire to help you stay abreast of the latest benefit changes to your medical insurance, we want to notify you that benefits for the following service are now provided by several health insurance carriers.
As most of you know, recent attention has been given to the Gardasil vaccine, which is used in the prevention of cervical cancer in women. Cervical cancer has been causally linked to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and most cervical cancers contain at least one high-risk type of HPV. Gardasil is being recommended for females aged 12 - 26, and is given in a course of three shots. Total cost averages $400.00 for the course.
The following health insurance carriers have verified with me that they cover this vaccine:

United HealthCare
Golden Rule (Individual coverage)
Please note that if your group health plan is with one of these carriers, coverage is based on your policy's preventative benefits.
